times are a’changin’ … and we don’t like it

Posted in: General

Outrage at work.
Huddled groups of employees whispering in corners.
Rumours abounding.
Accusations of retrograde steps.
Protestations.
Whinging.
General unrest.
And dissatisfaction.
What’s it all about?
The new chairs.

This isn’t comfortable. These cushions are harder. The wheels are squeaky. They don’t roll on the new carpet. It’s noisy. The gas lift is too fast. It won’t get into the position I want (and stay there). GIVE ME BACK MY ARMRESTS!

    Hmmm … a new chair…
The chair I just left had become fairly un-squishy from the endless days of me sitting on it.
But now, come to think of it, I’m going to work at a University … alas, lack of funding will ensure that I get a chair that has been flattened by the bums of many who have sat before me!
