Him: “It’s just one of those things. The man has foibles.”
Me: “He has fur balls?” (mind you, it was a crackly telephone line).
Him: “Yes. Don’t act so surprised. Human foibles. Everyone has them.”
Me: (unsure) “Fur balls?”
Him: “Trust me on this one.”
Me: (v unsure) “Okaaaaaay.”
…
Me: “Oh, foibles.” (I think one of mine is that I’m going deaf.)
Marita, I quite seriously think you need to get your hearing tested. This is at least the third blog entry I can recall that has dealt with an amusing mishearing of some kind. Mishearing once (or twice) could be considered an accident; three times in blogworthy incidents? Deafness, or part thereof.

April 19th, 2004 at 4:58 pmIn your defense Marita, I can recall that at least one of your blog entries has been about MY inability to hear correctly.
Of course you had an apertif, why would you have a pair of teeth..?
Perhaps an appointment for each of us to have our hearing tested is in order …
