colours again
Posted in: General
‘Shimmer’ + “Dromedary’ = the new colour scheme in my parents’ kitchen.
Ok – now guess what this really means!!
Go on.
Clue: I was most taken aback when I saw it.
True to form my parents coincided the application of the new colour scheme with a convenient holiday when they were assured at least some of their children/labourers would be in attendance.
No roast lunch for me.
Instead a crappy paintbrush.
Hope you had a Happy Easter.
Your mum actually went for a colour called ‘Shimmer’?
My my, the times they are a changin.
April 13th, 2004 at 10:46 amObviously their kitchen is not worthy of the paint colour “schmelli”.
April 13th, 2004 at 12:45 pmNo roast lunch??? On Easter??? That’s an atrocity!!
April 14th, 2004 at 8:31 amOK, I’ll throw my hat into the ring…
Shimmer = Pearly / ivory OR Very pale pink
Dromedary = Pale beige OR Lightish orange
How did I go?
April 14th, 2004 at 10:40 amOooh, Kathy, not a bad guess at all.
April 14th, 2004 at 11:25 am‘Shimmer’ actually = blue (think Mount Franklin Mineral Water bottle tops);
but ‘Dromedary’ is somewhere between pale beige and lightish orange.
The trim is a darker blue but I’ve forgotten the name of the colour.
It would not be my choice for a colour scheme however a new lick o’ paint does give a rooma lift!
